Holub, Joan Groundhog Weather School, illustrated by Kristin Sorra.  Putnam (Penguin), 2009.  $16.99.  PICTURE BOOK.  It’s time for Mr. Groundhog to go back to weather school – his predictions have just been way off! Weather, groundhogs, weathermen, shadows – Holub packs a wealth of easily digested information into her book.  The text is nicely complimented by Sorra’s fun and funky drawings.  AS a lead up to Groundhog Day, you can not go wrong with this book – in fact, you may have to choose what you have time to share and do a little bit each day.  My teenaged daughter initially said "Well, this is silly," and then proceeded to read the entire book. EL – ESSENTIAL.
